Español: Pareja de piqueros patiazules (Sula nebouxii) durante el ritual de apareamiento, Isla Lobos, Islas Galápagos, Ecuador. El piquero patiazul es un ave marina con unas alas que pueden alcanzar una longitud de hasta 1.5 m (4.9 ft). La especie tiene una altura de 90 cm (35 in) y es muy fácil de identificar gracias a sus patas de color azul, que son parte de su proceso de selección sexual al formar parte de un elaborado ritual de apareamiento en el que se balancean subiendo las patas mientras sacan pecho ante la hembra. Aunque se suele asociar a los piqueros patiazules con las islas Galápagos (donde anidan la mitad de todos los ejemplares), también se pueden encontrar en las zonas costeras entre el Golfo de California, pasando por América Central, hasta Perú.

Čeština: Pár terejů modronohých (Sula nebouxii), který byl zachycen na ostrově Lobos, souostroví Galapágy, během namlouvacího rituálu. Terejové modronozí jsou mořští ptáci s velkým rozpětím křídel až 1,5 metru. Jsou vysocí asi 90 cm a snadno je lze poznat podle nápadně světle modrých nohou. Ty hrají klíčovou roli během namlouvacího rituálu, sameček při propracovaném tanci ukazuje nohy samičce a snaží se ji zaujmout. Terejové modronozí jsou typickými představiteli galapážské ptačí fauny, přesto je lze pozorovat na širokém pásmu západního pobřeží Severní, Střední i Jižní Ameriky (od Kalifornie po Peru).
